Earlier this month, Poco’s head of product marketing, Angus Ng, revealed in an interview that the company is aiming to expand its ecosystem and launch several new wearables and AIoT products in 2022. Although, according to a new report from 91mobiles, Poco may release a laptop soon. As leaker Mukul Sharma noted, the Redmi G series laptop battery has been certified. The launch hints at the imminent launch of the first Poco laptop.
According to the report, a battery for a Redmi G series laptop with build number G16B01W was recently spotted on the BIS website under the Poco brand. The battery capacity is 3620 mAh, which is 55.02 Wh. While this battery looks like a spare, Poco could very well release a gaming laptop. But nothing has been confirmed at the moment.
It’s also worth mentioning that this isn’t the first time a Redmi-branded battery has been listed under the Poco brand. However, this is the first time since Poco announced the expansion of its ecosystem. Joining the dots, we can say that Poco may have plans to release a laptop in the coming months. For the time being, however, it is best to treat them with some skepticism.
The Poco G 2021 gaming laptop sports a 16-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with an Intel Core i5-11260H processor and has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. There is also an AMD Ryzen 7 5800 variant with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Beyond the product line, Poco is also working on adding more customizations that will only be available for Poco devices.
