Redmi has confirmed the launch of the K50 series in China. The company will unveil its flagship series in China on February 16. Redmi is expected to introduce several premium phones. Among the first devices is probably the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition.
Redmi officials have previously revealed that the K50 series Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 based device will be the first to be released. Rumor has it that this phone is the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. The teaser invitation also reveals the back panel design. Let’s take a look at the Redmi K50 series launch, specifications and other details.
Redmi K50 series launch date
The Redmi K50 series should be the next line of premium smartphones from the Xiaomi sub-brand. It will debut on February 16th. In the teaser image, the back of the device is colored blue. The device has a three-camera module, the sensors of which are aligned vertically. The camera module has LEDs around the sensors labeled “Freezing”and “Speediest”just like the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. So it’s safe to assume that the device mentioned in the invitation is indeed the K50 Gaming.
The device will still feature shoulder trigger buttons that can be customized for different games. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any other details about the device. However, the rumor mill gave us wings.
The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is expected to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. It will have a cutout in the center at the top for the front camera. The screen will be flat on the sides and will have fairly thin bezels.
The rear camera is expected to include a 64MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra wide-angle camera, and a 5MP macro lens. Xiaomi will feature a 16MP front camera sensor in the K50 Gaming Edition for selfies and video calls. The phone is confirmed to pack a 4,700mAh battery and support 120W fast charging out of the box.
As mentioned above, the K50 Gaming is rumored to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It will come with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Redmi gaming flagship will run MIUI 13 based on Android 12 in China.
Xiaomi may launch the device outside of China as the Poco F4 GT. The K50 Gaming is rumored to be priced at 3,499 yuan in China. Leaked pricing information should be treated with a grain of salt.
