A couple of months ago, we heard about the Redmi K50 that will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner in 2022, and last month it was confirmed that the phone could have several options, including the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition that will come with the Dimensity 9000 from MediaTek chipset.
And today, with the appearance of the official teaser of Redmi K50, some of them have been confirmed. Popular analyst Abhishek Yadav shared the teaser on Twitter along with information he personally confirmed. According to Abhishek, the teaser mentions Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 while Dimensity 9000 seems to be still available for Redmi K50.
Redmi K50 could have multiple variants
According to the leaker, the Reddmi K50 series will have a Dimensity 9000, although the teaser mentions a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. So it looks like there are at least two confirmed variants of the phone. In addition, the teaser confirms a 4700mAh battery with 120W fast charging. The teaser also mentions “dual VC liquid cooling”, hinting at two vapor chambers that may exist in the phone to provide a better cooling solution.

Two variants can be confirmed for now, one with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 and the other with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. However, a third variant cannot be ruled out.
A previous report said that the Redmi K50 with Dimensity 9000 will come with either a 120Hz or 144Hz LTPO OLED display. The report also claims that the phone will offer an optical under-display fingerprint scanner and a quad rear camera setup.
Little is known about the camera in the phone
The Redmi K50 series could have a 64MP Sony IMX686 or Samsung ISOCELL GW3 as its main camera sensor, while one of the options could also have a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor. In addition, almost nothing is known about the phones, and until all the options are confirmed, the camera characteristics are somewhat spoiled.
However, we expect more details about the Redmi K50 to come soon ahead of the official launch as Xiaomi has already started teasing the phone on social media in China. At the moment, we are expecting three options: the base model along with the K50 Pro 5G and K50 Pro Plus 5G.
