Sons of The Forest places you on a remote island where you use all your skills and instincts to help you survive among the cannibal inhabitants of the island. The game offers its players a variety of survival gear and items scattered throughout the forest. But making your own fire might not be enough when the beasts rear their heads, so the game has a varied roster of weapons to find and equip. One such weapon is the shotgun and here is a guide on how you can get one in Sons of The Forest.
How to find a shotgun in Sons of the Forest
The shotgun is the most powerful weapon in the game. Since the amount of ammunition for weapons is limited, players tend to use them only in dire situations. To get a shotgun, you first need to purchase a shovel.
How to find a shovel
- The shovel lies in a cave located to the left of the snow-covered mountain range. But accessing this cave will require two other special items – a rope gun and a rebreather.
- The Rope Pistol can be found in the cave to the right of the crash site. The rebreather is located in a remote cave in the upper left corner of the island in the river delta. Once you find these two items, head to the cave. You will need to use the rope gun to cross the first crack and the rebreather to swim underwater to get through the narrow passages and find the shovel. Please note that all of these caves are filled with mutants and we recommend going there prepared. Check out this guide on how to get a shovel for more details.
Now that you have a shovel, use the GPS to get to the purple indicator on the map. The shotgun is buried in a shallow grave marked with a cross. Use the shovel to dig up the shotgun and the GPS tracker buried with it.
That’s all you need to know about how to find the shotgun in Sons of the Forest.
