EA and Lucasfilm Games Announce Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order Sequel and Two More Games in Development

EA and Lucasfilm Games have just confirmed that Respawn Entertainment is currently working on three major Star Wars games. Among them is the highly anticipated next chapter of the Star Wars Jedi franchise.

It’s worth noting that EA and Lucasfilm have only confirmed that the game will be “the next game in the Star Wars Jedi franchise”, which does not mention that it is a sequel to 2019’s Jedi Fallen Order.

Other projects include a new first-person shooter from Peter Hirschmann, game director of Respawn’s hit VR title, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. What follows is a strategy game co-created by Respawn and Bit Reactor, a newly formed studio from former XCOM developers.

EA and Lucasfilm team up again to release three new Star Wars games

The next game in the Jedi franchise is currently under development under the direction of game director Stig Asmussen. The third game is a new strategy game that will be led by Greg Fortsch, who has extensive experience in the gaming industry. Bit Reactor will take the lead on this particular project.

“We’re excited to continue working with the incredibly talented developers at Respawn,”said Douglas Reilly, vice president of Lucasfilm Games. “They have demonstrated mastery of epic Star Wars storytelling along with best-in-class gameplay across genres, and we look forward to bringing even more amazing experiences to a galaxy far, far away.”

The gaming community was pleasantly surprised when LucasFilm Games returned to the big scene after closing in 2013. Disney has confirmed that LucasFilm Games will be the home of all future Star Wars games, and it looks like their relationship with EA has been rekindled. with the announcement of these 3 titles.

Back in the day, LucasArts and EA had a pretty good relationship with hits like The Force Unleashed. So that LucasFilm Games, along with Respawn, will lead the new era of Star Wars games is definitely exciting.
