Acer Unveils Family Chromebooks at CES 2022

During CES, Taiwanese computer giant Acer unveiled three new Chromebooks today. These Chromebooks are affordable, yet easy to use and secure, according to the company. The new Chromebooks come in three sizes and form factors. These include the Acer Chromebook Spin 513, Acer Chromebook 315, and Acer Chromebook 314.

Acer Chromebook Spin 513

Acer Chromebook Spin 513

It’s a sleek, aluminum Chromebook with a VertiView display that Acer claims can improve user productivity. It is equipped with MediaTek Kompanio 1380 octa-core processor and can work up to 10 hours without recharging.

The Chromebook features a 13.5-inch 2256×1504 pixel VertiView display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, offering 18% more vertical screen real estate. Narrow bezels surround the display, and the convertible design of the Acer Chromebook Spin 513 makes it a great choice for frequent travelers and students alike.

The Chromebook also provides MIL-STD 810H military-grade reliability and the latest connectivity options like Wi-Fi 6 and USB-C. Chromebook comes with a backlit keyboard.

Acer Chromebook 315

The OceanGlass™ touchpad on the Chromebook is made entirely from plastic waste that ends up in the ocean.

The Acer Chromebook 315 is like any other full-size laptop with a large 15.6-inch anti-glare display and OceanGlass touchpad. This Chromebook is great for anyone who wants to work anywhere, as the anti-glare display never distracts in a variety of lighting conditions.

It also offers an optional touchscreen display, and the large keyboard has room for a dedicated numeric keypad. It features the latest Intel processors and offers Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and up to 10 hours of battery life, while in terms of ports, users get two USB-C Gen 2 ports along with a microSD card reader.

The OceanGlass touchpad in the Acer Chromebook 315 is made entirely from plastic waste that ends up in the ocean, which has been recycled into glass, making it more sustainable.

Acer Chromebook 314

This is the most budget option among the three Chromebooks.

This is a more budget-friendly option with an OceanGlass touchpad, aimed primarily at students and families with school-age children. It’s similar to the Acer Chromebook 315 in terms of processor, Wi-Fi connectivity, and battery life, while the Chromebook retains MIL-STD 810H reliability. However, it does offer a slightly smaller display compared to the Chromebook 315 as it features a 14-inch full HD IPS touchscreen with anti-glare coating.
