At this year’s CES, Taiwanese computer giant ASUS announced a new line of ROG gaming laptops and improvements made to the latest products. The ROG Zephyrus and Flow lines in 2022 will now ship with 16:10 aspect ratio displays, with some models featuring brand new Nebula and Nebula HDR displays.
ASUS has begun using Liquid Metal Thermal Grease across its entire line of laptops. The ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 and Strix SCAR will feature Conductonaut Extreme, a thermal interface material designed for ultra-high performance scenarios that can reduce CPU temperatures by up to 15°C compared to traditional thermal pastes.
ROG has also implemented a MUX switch across the line, allowing the dedicated GPU to stream graphics directly to the display. Gamers can enable GPU direct mode to reduce latency and improve performance by up to 5-10% on average. ASUS claims games like Rainbow Six Siege are up over 30%. The company also announced a range of new gaming laptops, tablets, desktops and other ROG devices.
ROG Strix Scar
The all-new ROG Strix SCAR is built for esports enthusiasts running Windows 11 Pro and features best-in-class hardware including a highly refreshed display and ROG Intelligent Cooling with Liquid Metal Conductonaut Extreme. The ROG Strix SCAR could feature a 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900H and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti processor, as well as PCIe 4.0 storage and DDR5 4800MHz RAM.
Available in two sizes – 15″and 17″. The 15-inch models offer three IPS-level display options – QHD 240Hz, Full HD 300Hz, and QHD 165Hz. The 17-inch model offers two display options – QHD 240Hz or Full HD 360Hz. All models support Dolby Vision HDR with Adaptive-Sync on display and 3ms response time.
ASUS ROG Strix G
ASUS ROG Strix G comes in exciting new color options.
ASUS also launched brand new ROG Strix G15 and G17 laptops equipped with AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. The G15 offers Full HD 300Hz and QHD 165Hz display options, while the G17 offers Full HD 360Hz and QHD 240Hz display options. These laptops support Dolby Vision with Adaptive-Sync and 3ms response time while delivering Dolby Atmos surround sound. Three color options are available: Eclipse Grey, Volt Green and Electro Punk.
All ROG Strix laptops come with a 90Wh battery with support for 100W USB-C charging, as well as advanced connectivity options such as WiFi 6E and 2.5G LAN.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14
The ROG Zephyrus G14 has also been updated.
The new ROG Zephyrus G14 is a beast of a portable form factor that is now an improvement over the previous generation. The new G14 runs Windows 11 out of the box and features an AMD Ryzen 9 Series processor and AMD Radeon RX 6000S Series mobile graphics, along with DDR5 RAM and a 1TB PCIe SSD.
The G14 is also one of the first ROG laptops to feature an all-new Nebula display, offering a 120Hz refresh rate at QHD resolution, 500 nits peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, as well as a 3ms response time, Dolby Vision. Like the new ROG Strix lineup, the G14 comes with Dolby Atmos and incredibly fast WiFi 6E. It is available in two color options – Eclipse Gray and Moonlight White.

The new ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 is the latest dual-display laptop with ROG ScreenPad Plus and a secondary screen for extra productivity. It now features an AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti processor. The laptop supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos in terms of display.
The first is the ROG Nebula HDR, which offers 512 mini-LED dimming zones with a maximum brightness of up to 1100 nits with a QHD, 16:10 panel and a 165Hz refresh rate. The second option is a Dual Spec panel that can switch between 4K 120Hz and Full HD 240Hz, allowing gamers to choose between higher frame rates and resolutions.

In addition, ASUS has updated ROG Flow X13 with the latest AMD Ryzen 9 6000 Series and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050Ti processors for 2022. ASUS also unveiled the new ROG Strix GT15 gaming desktop, featuring the latest hardware from Intel and Nvidia. The desktop is available in several configurations including Intel Core i7 -12700KF, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 and 64GB DDR4-3200 RAM. The company also unveiled the new ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet with an Intel Core i9 processor and 120Hz display, and the Archer series of bags and backpacks.
