Google dLight is a smart table lamp with a sleek design and built-in Google Assistant. But you can’t buy it (yet).
Google is no stranger when it comes to smart home products. The American giant has been selling plug-in speakers and other thermostats for some time now. So it’s no surprise to learn that Mountain View has developed a lamp called “dLight, “according to a tweet posted by Ben Gold, who shared a photo of the product.

If you like what you see in the photo opposite, unfortunately we have bad news for you, as it seems that you will never be able to buy it. At first glance it seems that there is nothing special about this lamp, it looks quite simple and concise, which is why we find it successful. Otherwise, nothing particularly exotic, the lamp benefits from a head that can be rotated up or down at will, which is said to provide better lighting during video conferences.

And with many Google employees working from home during the pandemic and many still working, this table lamp makes a lot of sense. The latter also bears the Google Assistant logo, suggesting that it will integrate the American giant’s voice-activated digital assistant. This could be an imitation of the general public, but, as stated earlier, this will not happen, since this lamp is only offered to Mountain View employees.
It is a pity that they did not choose commercialization in a good and proper form. Many people would love to get their hands on a lamp like this. But who knows, maybe Google will reconsider if there is demand. To be continued!
