The Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are fantastic smartphones on paper. Unfortunately, they suffer from a number of bugs and other issues that frustrate many users in everyday use. Let’s start with the camera. Google explains that this update fixes “bugs that cause the front camera preview to appear enlarged in some apps.”It also fixed an issue that caused a green screen to appear in the camera preview. As for wireless charging, the patch restores performance with “certain accessories,”an issue that has surfaced on Reddit with various Qi charging legs in particular.
With many long awaited fixes
The teams of the American giant have also fixed various issues in the user interface for all Pixel devices, including crashes in picture-in-picture mode, error messages with some animated wallpapers, broken animations, etc. The April update even brings security fixes, including “a high security vulnerability in the Component Framework that could lead to local privilege escalation”, as detailed in the security bulletin.
The March Security Bulletin, which arrived two weeks late, fixed a number of important bugs, especially with regard to Wi-Fi connectivity, battery management, and fingerprint recognition. In doing so, it also weakened the vibration module, which caused a lot of complaints from users. Google has acknowledged the problem, but has not given a release date for the fix. The April update will be rolled out “over the next few days in stages, depending on your carrier and device.”If you haven’t had it yet, be patient.
