Opera is launching its Crypto Browser on iOS, again to make web3 and underlying technologies easier to access.
Last January, Opera launched a beta version of its dedicated Crypto Browser web browser, promising to make websites3 as accessible as any other2. The company then launched its browser for Windows, Mac and Android, unfortunately leaving iOS device owners aside. Opera today announces that its Crypto Browser is finally available for iPhone and other iPads, which can be downloaded and installed directly from its website.

The browser in question has a built-in non-custodial crypto wallet that supports Ethereum, Bitcoin, and other blockchain ecosystems. This allows users to buy cryptocurrency with fiat currency and trade any supported token without having to install any extensions. In addition, the browser provides users with access to decentralized applications and other web 3 NFTs, including 7,000 services based on the Polygon ecosystem.
One of the great features of this crypto browser is the Crypto Corner start page where users can get real-time information about cryptocurrencies such as promotions, events, giveaways and podcasts. Opera also claims to have thought and developed its browser for both experienced crypto users and newbies who need help.
Always make it easy to access web3 and underlying technologies
Jørgen Arnesen, CEO of Opera, said in part: “Interest in web3 continues to grow. The Opera Crypto Browser project was designed to simplify the web3 user experience that is often confusing to the general public. Opera believes that web3 must be easy to use in order to reach its full potential and be widely adopted.”
Opera did not specify whether the iOS version is compatible with the more power-efficient Ethereum Layer 2 standard. Last February, the company rolled out layer 2 support for the Android version, which the company says will make its browser the first mobile browser to feature this feature.
