Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio with PixelSense Flow Display, RTX 3050Ti Launch: Price, Specs

At the Surface event, Microsoft unveiled its most powerful laptop ever. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio is a new convertible laptop that the company says is an evolution of the Surface Book. This is a complete redesign of the previous line of Surface Book laptops released earlier. Unlike previous models where the display was removable, the new Studio laptop has a screen that can be pulled forward to turn the device into a tablet. Microsoft calls it Studio Mode.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio has a large 14.4-inch PixelSense display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and comes with Dolby Vision. The laptop comes with a “dynamic woven loop”that allows it to seamlessly transition from one mode to another.

It has three different modes – Laptop, Scene and Studio. As the name suggests, laptop mode will allow users to use the Surface Laptop Studio like a normal laptop. In stage mode, the screen can be pulled forward at a specific angle for gaming, streaming, docking, or presenting to clients. In this particular mode, the keyboard is completely covered, leaving only the trackpad visible.

Finally, there is the Studio mode. This mode is especially useful for those who need a blank canvas for writing, sketching, or other creative pursuits. To make life easier for these users, Surface Laptop Studio also supports the Surface Slim Pen 2, which can be magnetically stored under the keyboard.

Laptop Studio is powered by 11th generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors. The Core i5 model is paired with Intel Iris Xe graphics, while the i7 model has an Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti GPU and 4GB of VRAM. Users can choose between 16GB/32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of SSD storage.

The laptop also comes with two USB 4 ports with Thunderbolt 4, a Surface Connect charging port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and more. In terms of price, the Surface Laptop Studio starts at $1,599.99).
