Earlier this month, PUBG Battlegrounds received brand new skins as part of a new collaboration with Nier, one of Japan’s most popular video game franchises. This crossover brought several skins such as Kaine, Nier, 2B and 9S from NieR Replicant and NieR Automata games.
These skins will be permanently removed on April 30, 2022, so this may be the last chance for players to get some of these skins. NieR Crossover skins are currently available for purchase from the PUBG in-game store.
Players can purchase these skins with G-coins, but they will need quite a lot of them to be able to buy all 4 of these skins.
PUBG x NieR co-op skins will disappear on April 30, 2022.
PUBG is no stranger to odd collaborations here and there, as even its mobile counterpart, PUBG Mobile/BGMI, has been known for a major collaboration or two. Several iconic IPs have made their way onto the battlefield, even King Kong and Godzilla.
The game went through a major transformational phase, moving towards a free-to-play model as a direct response to the competition. While PUBG Battlegrounds had a solid start compared to the rest of its battle royale brethren, the game only seemed to have many players in select corners of the world.
Most other popular battle royale games have chosen to go the free-to-play path, but PUBG has been a paid game for a long time. Until this year, when Crafton decided to make the game free-to-play, offering additional content to those players who had already purchased the game.
Since then, the game seems to have taken on a sort of second wind, and it seems to be doing just fine so far. While it may face stiff competition on PC and consoles, it pretty much dominates when it comes to mobile play options. PUBG/BGMI continues to be one of the most popular mobile games in most of the regions where they are available.
