Paris-based studio Sloclap reports that Sifu’s sales have surpassed the one million mark in less than a month.
A demanding indie game that could potentially claim the title of GOTY by the end of the year, Sloclap’s Sifu has officially reached a million players in just three weeks on the market. If at least 200,000 players have already mastered kung fu to defeat the main antagonist Yang, then 45% of them were able to pass the second level in more than 10 million hours of play.
“We are pleased with the reception given to Sifu by the fans and the press,” said Pierre Tarnot, executive producer of Sloclap. “We wanted to create an authentic action game that pays homage to our favorite kung fu movies. We humbly thank our fans around the world and are especially grateful for the reception given to the game in China. This has been one of the keys to the success of the game for us, and its great success – the second largest sales territory after the US – as well as the reception of the Chinese press mean a lot to us. ”

Available on PS5, PS4 and PC, Sifu is an ode to kung fu.
Alexis Garavarian, CEO of Kepler Interactive, explains: “The Sloclap team has created something truly exceptional that resonates with gamers around the world. Sifu was an immediate hit, but it took years of work building on Absolver and the team’s desire to redefine the contours of the martial arts game. We thank our friends at PlayStation and Epic Games for their top notch support and great visibility. “
