BGMI India Series 2021: Final Results
Prior to qualifying for the PUBG Global Tournament, Mobile Skylightz Gaming emerged as the winner of the BGIS 2021 Finals. The team took first place in the tournament ahead of other Indian esports teams such as TSM, which placed second, and Team XO, which placed third. As part of the tournament, Skylightz Gaming received the first prize of 50 lakhs, while the second and third placed teams won 25 lakhs and 10 lakhs each.
The official BGMI tournament in the country is hosted by Krafton and gives professional esports teams a chance to win a national gaming tournament. Crafton also tiered the tournament in such a way that the winners of national tournaments subsequently battle each other on a global scale. The upcoming PMGC Grand Finals are the result of this and will offer teams significant money as well as global exposure and sponsorship opportunities.
BGMI is the replacement mobile game for PUBG Mobile in India. Basically, the game is a modified version of PUBG Mobile that was banned in India due to its association with Chinese servers. Crafton brought BGMI back to India with strategic cosmetic changes from PUBG Mobile, including replacing the original kill shot animation with colored feathers. Krafton also manages the game under various labels around the world, including China.
However, the global tournament continues under the name PUBG Mobile, which will now be handled by Skylightz Gaming.
