Google Pixel foldable smartphone display specs leaked online; Launch expected soon

Rumor has it that Google is working on a foldable Pixel smartphone. The company was originally expected to release the foldable phone late last year in the US and other markets. While that obviously didn’t happen, reports have suggested that Google’s foldable smartphone will be launched in the second half of this year. Some specs of the upcoming Pixel foldable have also been revealed. The latest of these comes from display analyst Ross Young, who revealed the foldable phone’s screen size.

Yang claims that Google’s foldable phone will have a smaller display than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, which will feature a 6.19-inch outer screen. However, the folding display of both devices will have the same size. Let’s take a look at the leaked Google Pixel foldable smartphone specs, features, and other details.

Google Pixel Smartphone Foldable Display Specifications

The Google Pixel Foldable smartphone may finally get a launch date this year. There are rumors that the foldable phone will be released by the end of 2022. Google has yet to confirm any details about the foldable phone. While we’re waiting for this, some display specs have surfaced online.

Yang claims that the Google foldable phone will have the same foldable display size as the Z Fold 4. This means the Pixel foldable phone could have an 8-inch foldable screen. Yang also stated that the Google foldable device’s external screen will be much smaller at 5.8 inches compared to the Z Fold 4’s 6.19-inch external display. Yang states that the Google foldable smartphone will have a wider aspect ratio compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Notably, the outer screen size of the Pixel is the same as that of the Oppo Find N.

Other details of the foldable Pixel have been revealed in the past. There are rumors that there is a dual camera on the back. The camera will have a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 main camera and a 12MP IMX386 ultra wide camera. For selfies and video calls, the foldable phone will have two 8-megapixel sensors – one on the foldable screen and the other on the outer display.

Similar to the new Pixel phones, Google’s foldable phone will also feature a custom-designed Tensor series chip. However, it is unknown if it will feature the same chipset as the Pixel 6 series. More details should come as we get closer to launch.
